This resource provides open access to the academic journal article describing the statistical research that generated the National, State, and County level estimates used on Sound Check’s map page. The research uses a statistical approach called small area estimation to combine information from multiple data sources to estimate the prevalence of hearing loss. The paper describes the methodologies used, provides links to technical appendixes that describe the project data and statistical methods. The paper is offered to the public for use under the terms of the CC BY-NC-ND License which allows the public copy and redistribute the information, provided the original source is given appropriate credit and the information is used for non-commercial purposes.
